How to hand wash your silk face masks?
Posted by Layla Vu Becker onWash Bag
Always wash your face mask inside a wash bag to protect it. If you don’t have a wash bag, a great alternative is putting it inside an old pillowcase.
Gentle Soap
Use a mild soap, silk detergent or gentle shampoo to wash. It’s important that you use a detergent or soap that doesn’t contain enzymes or bleach that will damage your silk.
Machine Wash
Put the washing machine on a warm delicate cycle. The cycle should not exceed a water temperature above 30 Celsius. Make sure to wash your hands thoroughly after handling your mask.
Hand Wash
If you are opting to wash your silk pillowcase or silk face masks by hand, submerge the mask in a tub of warm water, no hotter than 30C Celsius. Lather the mask with your gentle soap or detergent and gently scrub for at least 20 seconds. Rinse with hot water.
After Wash Care
After washing, hang your mask up to air dry. Once it is dry, you can then iron it to remove any creases. Ironing it will help to prolong the quality of the silk.
